Elle's Death Permanent!?

Ok all, I like many of you out there are going a little crazy with this whole Elle is dead, not dead, dead but will return "spoilers". For almost one week we have had several conflicting reports and unfortunately I do not know which one to believe anymore.

I know many of you out there are huge fans of Kristen Bell and her character Elle potentially dying has not sat well with you. Some of you supposedly so upset, that you will never watch the show again.

Well if you are in that boat, then you will not be too happy to hear that EW's Ausiello confirmed today that Elle is dead and her death IS permanent!? Of course, yesterday Kristin at E! Online said Elle will return at some point and is not dead.

So go figure. At this point I will not make any judgment until we get some sort of "official" confirmation, but feel free to debate this some more.

My thought on this whole thing is, that one of the problems with the show is that there are no consequences of a "real" death. Even in this past week's episode, Claire and Sylar's "deaths" were all moot because I expected them to be alive and thus there was no impact on me. Basically making those almost pointless.
